Mount Talents

Fetch

You’ve spent time teaching your mount to play fetch! You can either throw an item and issue a verbal command or point to an item within 60ft and your mount will move to retrieve the item to the best of its ability. The mount gains a +3 to sleight of hand in retrieval based tasks and can pick up objects that might be difficult for a creature of its type.

Hunter

Predatory animals, such as hawks or dogs, can be taught to hunt on their own and bring the kill back to you, rather than eating it for themselves. When headed out on long expeditions your mount may be commanded to try and hunt in the environment.

The mount gains a +3 to survival checks and is self-sufficient in feeding itself if ever outside the realms of civilization.

Perform

Some amusing tricks your animal does. A backflip on command, playing dead, speaking on command, etc. The animal can make a Performance check if it matters how well it does, and you can always Help it do so by combining your command with the Help action. The mount gains a +5 to performance and can perform a number of tricks determined by the trainer. (Within reason.)

Stunt Riding

The mount is specially trained to accept a rider and is trained to be better at landing jumps and other stunts.

The mount gains a +3 to the Acrobatics skill.

Track

You give your mount something to smell with a scent you want tracked. When it finds something, it will signal you in a way you trained it to when you taught it this talent. The mount gains +3 to Survival checks and may use its survival skill for any check made to track anything you command it to and have a scent reference for.

Work

The mount is trained to carry, haul, and tow loads.

The mount gains a +3 to Athletics checks.

Herd

The mount is trained to guide, protect or watch over other animals of various kinds. Farm animals are more likely to feel at ease around the mount, potentially preventing them from fleeing. The mount gains +5 to the Animal Handling skill.

Impose

The mount is trained to appear most imposing and threatening upon command. When a command word is spoken the mount will make an aggressive sound appropriate for its flavour.

The mount gains +5 to the Intimidation skill.

Stealth

The mount is trained to be as stealthy as possible on command. When issued with a command word the mount moves as quietly as possible, its footsteps being near silent.

The mount gains +3 to the Stealth skill.
