Open Encounters Player Requests
What is Open Encounter Player Requests?
The Open Encounter Request system encourages player exploration across our vast map to seek out interesting locations and character growth. This is an improv event system meaning DMs will take the information you give them to shape a story related to your goals (though not required to meet player intentions). This system involves players traveling the map and when they find a place they feel could be good for an event they send in their request.
Locations can not be claimed by a Dungeon Master, contain a Dungeon Master Event Sign, or be an in-progress build of the Architect Team (they will have signs going forward). If you find a DM event-sign contact that DM via their personal tickets to continue that event. Interactions can be done solo or as a group.
Player Request Process
The request for an open encounter interaction is initiated by a player and is tracked primarily through discord. Below are the following steps for a player upon finding a location they find interesting:
Step 1: Create a general when2meet for scheduling please have it cover at least a 2 week window and/or up to a Month. Have all players that will be interacting with the world encounter with you fill it out completely. Please prepare the when2meet before opening a ticket.
Step 2: Open an Open Encounter Request Ticket on the RPDND Discord. Add all individuals involved with encounter to the ticket with /add <discord username>. Submit the form below with the appropriate details in the ticket.

Step 3: A DM who can match the times available as provided on the when2meet will claim the ticket. A selected time will be chosen by the DMs and players, and any additional details will be discussed within the ticket.
Additional Rules/Info:
Determining Precedence: If multiple groups of players wish to interact with the same encounter, precedence follows a strict first come first serve policy, where the group that creates the Encounter Ticket first will interact with the location first. If all players and/or the DMs are unable to select a viable date/time that is no more than one month from the time of ticket creation, then the ticket may be closed or the players will need to readjust with new members who can fit a more available time.
For example: if Group 1’s ticket is created on October 1st and Group 2’s ticket is created on October 3rd, but Group 1 cannot meet together until November 2nd, Group 2 would receive precedence if they are able to meet before November 1st.
If a completed form is not sent within 48 hours of opening the ticket, the ticket will not be considered ‘created’ until the form is sent with regards to determining precedence. If a completed form is not sent within a week of opening the ticket, the ticket may be closed by the DMs. Please prepare the when2meet and complete form before opening a ticket.
As a player you are allotted a max of 2 encounter tickets to spread across your active characters.
Encounters can be completed solo or with a group (max 6 people unless stated by DM)
Both Adventurers and Civilians can use this system.
Not all events will be combat based and some may be roleplay based as determined by the Dungeon Master.
DM areas (aka areas with DM signs) do not use this ticket type.
If you do not see a DM ticket you can either send in an Open Encounter Ticket or make a general DM ticket asking about the area before sending in an OE ticket.
In progress buildings will have a “build in progress” sign and not be available for this ticket type.
