Character Death
Rest in Peace
With any adventure there comes risks and those risks are death. When your character dies it is sad and if choose not to be revived or are unable to be revived we offer this compromise to not lose all your efforts through our 1/3rd exp perk.
Characters die and its a hard time for everyone. You feel behind now that all your friends are higher level and now you are at the bottom again. On RPDND we want to help negate that by offering you an opportunity. Upon character death players will regain 1/3rd of their dead characters EXP to be applied to their new character or an existing stored adventurer.
Death Form
IGN:
Character Name:
Current EXP:
DM: (DM who hosted event)
Status: Dead
Formula: Death EXP = ((XP - Starting EXP) /3 ) + Starting EXP
Important Information
Must be an active character who has died in an event and confirmed by a DM.
1/3rd EXP can be applied to an Active, Stored or New Character as "Set EXP" not "Added EXP" similar to SNAP process.
Characters must confirm that they are not going to be revived for this to be accepted.
After death distribution of your inventory items will be discussed amongst the DM, party members and Player with GM oversight [if needed]. Any items in active storage or active home will be handed to next of kin. Items in active home or storage will not be divided to multiple characters if its only material value and not lore texted value. (ex: A loretexted sword vs a Gemstone or Stone blocks)
If no next of kin exists items will be auctioned or removed from the map.
DM Quest Items will be removed for redistribution if not passed on.
Game Master Steps
Game masters will review the application provided under #char-updates -> Character Snapping. With an added Reason of Death.
After confirming the character is officially dead by talking to the DM.
GM will confirm that the player has removed their locks on doors and chests for the next player.
GM will work with the player, party members, and DM to determine where the players items will go in their inventory and later where their house/storage items.
The dead character will be /newcharacter and the exp of the dead character processed for the next character.
1/3rd exp from dead character = new EXP for new character. Contact a DM to have the exp set.
Add information to Mod Log (Dead Character Exp -> 1/3rd Exp, Player Name/Character Name, DM who's event they died in)
